Hi All,

I am looking into getting a second monitor to dual screen with.

At present I have an NEC Multisync 20WGX².

I would like a new monitor that is at least as good as the NEC one I have now.

Any size from 20" - 24".

As far as I understand the NEC is an ips model? And the viewing angle is great and it doesnt seem to change colour horizontally in bands like the Samsung my wife has does.

So has anyone got any recommendations?

Price upto about £300+ - cheaper if possible :D

I was in the same boat as you, had my trusty WGX2 for about 4 years. I've just taken the plunge and got a Dell U2410, got it for about £370 delivered elsewhere on the web. Now that I've got the colours sorted out in Custom Colour mode it looks just as nice as my NEC did. I know it's a bit over your price band but if you can afford it I'd recommend it. Admittedly I think I managed to get a good panel as to my eye I can't see any tinting, whites look retina searingly white and on Custom Colour it's nearly as vivid as the NEC.

Can't bring myself to part with the NEC though, may just keep it for nostalgia!

Lol! I wouldn't hold my breath if i were you!

Anyway, I think you're really going to have to look at upgrading the size. No point in going for a 22" or below as you won't be gaining resolution and will probably get lower image quality.

Also, having been a IPS user TN film panels will be a massive step down due to viewing angles, colour depth etc. If I were you I'd save up a bit more and look at either the U2410 or the new HP ZR range that should be coming in a month or so.
