Hi guys,

I am after a replacement for my ageing Dell 24" Ultrasharp *something or other IPS monitor. It's served me well but I want something more immersive for Flight Simulation/

My budget is around £300-£400 and I'm preferably after something widescreen for cockpit immersion. But with the capability of locking the refresh rate to 30hz when running the sim. The 30hz trick helps optimise smoothness. I have looked at a few options but they only have limited refresh rates. Locked at 60hz etc.

A getaround could be to run a HDMI cable to my computer and use that source when simming. As I know most monitors have a couple of HDMI ports and some are limited to 30hz. Is this a good way of getting by? Without paying over the odds for a Gsync monitor. The only 'game' I play is Flight Sim so buying a 144hz GSync monitor seems a waste to me?

Thanks a lot.

Alex.

If you have the desk space just get a 4K TV if flight sim is your primary concern.

A large 4K TV will provide far more immersion for flight sim than a small or widescreen monitor.

I'm running XP11 on a 65" Sony XE93 :D

Sounds great. I don't want anything that big personally but each to their own.
