Hey guys i searched the forums and there didnt really seem to be a thread specific enough.

I need a new monitor for video editing, that is real quality. I dont want to spend thousands, but I would like to see whats out there for around 3 - 500 quid. Also Im not worried about losing space when editing as I already have a sammy 2032bw which i can use for my bins, timelline etc.

One other problem is that i live in Korea, so a samsung / lg choice would be preferred, but is not essential.

Any help would be appreciated cheers.

Dell/Mac display is the way to go, and spend £100 on a calibration tool too, makes a huge difference. Dell UltraSharp 2709W would be where my money would go, 27 inch (native 1080p res), great colour gamut and contrast ratios, and a kick ass customer support (dead pixel no questions asked return policy, and lots of other stuff).

Spose maybe get a list together of the monitors that are available there (in a similar price range and size) and post the list up for review and have a gander at the specs/panels.

those things are seriously overpriced for what they actually do...

They make a huge difference. Especially when you're editing footage/photos that will be shown on other calibrated equipment (such as cinema projectors). The difference across my 2 monitors after using the calibrator was quite noticeable.
