Hi,

I'm looking for a new monitor which can be used for both gaming and working from home. As I have a PC for gaming and a MacBook Pro which is primarily used for work, I would like something that has a USB-C port to connect and charge the MacBook Pro. I'm not too fussed on screen size or resolution really, but as my PC isn't particularly powerful at the moment, I don't want something that is 4K and wil kill my machine. I was originally looking at ultra wide's but that is very productivity biased rather than gaming.

I have seen the MSI Optix MAG272C which has USB-C and states for DP and charging on their website, but there is no mention of if it provides enough power to charge the MacBook. Does anyone have any experience of this with this monitor? If anyone is able to provide any alternatives to look at it would be appreciated :)

Thanks

For work AND gaming, it really must be an IPS panel imho. IPS is better on the eyes for document work. I think those MSI monitors are VA.

Razer Raptor 27" has USB-C ...

That's a low medieval resolution monitor and worser than what used to be standard.

2560x1440 is what you should be looking for.
That at least gives some room to work with.
Als it's the sweet spot for gaming.

MSI Optix MAG272QR and MAG272QP are stated to support charging.
Power output is 5V 3A, so it won't be charging laptop fast.

In fact that's inadequate to even power most laptops under heavy load.

MAG322CQR has same charging output mentioned in manual

BenQ EX3203R (VA) and EX2780Q (IPS) have USB-C, but no power delivery.
