New monitor help...

Hi people,, im got a pg279Q
I'm looking for a new monitor for Christmas
I'm saying that because maybe something new may come out..
I. Using a 3080 gpu
I play cod and battlefield...
I was thinking 4k but all my discord m8 say don't go 4k because of the poor fps ..?
When I play warzone I have to use nvidea filters because I can't see sh##t .
Hence 4k..

But as you know the asus pg279 is a good ips fps monitor , had it I think around 5 years

Can you beat it with modern day monitor's
Any advice or help would be great.
I do play competitively but I'm sure we all do.
