Hi

Picked up a ASUS 27" VG27AQ3A 2560x1440 IPS 180Hz A-Sync Widescreen Gaming Monitor today.

Im having some issues with it. Im getting occasions where the entire top part of the screen either turns off or flickers badly. Ive tried a different cable and ive also updated the GFX drivers.

My previous monitor is fine and dosent give these issues. Looking online its a common fault

Anything else i can try before returning it?

Not that it should matter but have you tried cable types..... HDMI instead of DP.?
Understanding limitations etc.
Any firmware updates, GPU or monitor..?
Tried lowering refresh rate to 120hz..?
I know you have tried different cables, but they can be quite troublesome imo.

What GPU.?

Strangely enough ive changed the DP cable to the one it came with ( exactly same as the one i was already using ) and updated the GFX driver again and also found a monitor driver ( didnt know there was such a thing ).

Touch wood its been fine all evening.

Yeah monitors can have drivers
They work out of the box Without them
as they have to to be able to
Get windows installed etc
Not sure what extra functionality the driver adds
But I always go look see if there's a driver
On the support page anyway

Well fingers crossed for you
I would still be worried its just behaving itself for now
And could misbehave again
Guess you could swap cables back
And see what happens
