My Samsung SyncMaster T240 decided to give up the ghost yesterday which means I'm now in search of a new monitor.

I'm torn between a monitor with a higher res, bigger real estate or an ISP panel.

The SyncMaster was a 1920x1200 monitor and was at least 5 years old. It had a 5ms response time with 20000:1 Dynamic contrast and I think it was a TN panel.

I used it mainly for playing games and browsing the internet. Every so often I'd do some Photoshop work and web design work on it too but perhaps a handful of times a year.

Here is where my problem starts. Going to a 1080p monitor would feel like a downgrade as I'm used to the 1920x1200 res so I was looking at a 1440p monitor but I'm aware this is more taxing on the GPU which I have a Geforce 770 so a 1080p disply would probably be better.

There were a few monitors I was looking at, all of which have both pros and cons so I'd like some feedback on which one to go for. These were the monitors I was looking at:

BenQ GW2765HT: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00M913DVG
Cons I've read include screen bleeding and colours seemingly a little "off"

Asus VX24AH: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-VX24AH...TF8&qid=1436119317&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+1440p
Cons I've read are also screen bleeding

Acer-Predator: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-Predat...8&qid=1436120400&sr=1-1&keywords=144hz+g-sync
Cons is the price for a 1080p monitor.

Asus Designo MX27AQ: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00S1B998O/ref=twister_B00ZWS2WOM?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Cons is the price and screen bleeding

Acer H257HUsmidpx: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Acer-H257HU...TF8&qid=1436121272&sr=1-15&keywords=acer+1440
Cons are the price and for the screen size.

Acer CB270HU: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LX2J1...m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_r=1QZBN2BVQQVRQ2N7B837
Cons is ther eare hardly any reviews for it.

BenQ XL2430T: http://www.amazon.co.uk/BenQ-XL2430T-inch-Gaming-Monitor/dp/B00MCX4Q2G

It doesn't even have to be a "gaming" monitor. I'd much rather pay for a good quality screen for the same price one costs with G-Sync but I had an ISP panel eailer in the year and sent it back due to screen bleeding so I'm wary of getting another. My budget is about £400 absolute max.

If there are other monitors I've missed that I should look at them please let me know!

I'm looking into G-Sync a lot more and it appears it won't meet my gaming needs.

I play games like The Witcher, Starcraft, Diablo, Elite, EVE and other slower based games than a typical FPS so G-Sync I can take it or leave it now.
