Hey all,
I'm currently using an old AOC 720p 32" tv as my main computer screen and I'm well over due something new.
I don't have a desk as such and sit roughly 1.5 meters away from the screen so the large size is a plus but other than that its pretty poor in all other aspects.
I use the Computer for most things, photo/video editing, gaming, watching movies, browsing etc.
A general all round monitor would be best, I don't need any thing that excels in one particular aspect if that makes sense.
I have a budget of around £300 and was originally looking at a 27"
Something like this.
YOUR BASKET
1 x iiyama Prolite XUB2790 27" Widescreen Slim Bezel LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £221.99
Total : £231.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).
I read the IPS panel would be a good choice for photo editing and movies due to the better colours and the 5ms response time seems ok for gaming.
I don't think my budget will stretch to a 1400p monitor but I did consider this as an alternative.
YOUR BASKET
1 x Iiyama Prolite GB2773HS-GB1 144Hz 27" Widescreen LED 1MS Monitor - Black £269.99
Total : £279.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).
Increased refresh and response times but its a tn panel so maybe colours wont be as good?
I then wondered if a 29" would be a better option but only two monitors come in on budget.
YOUR BASKET
1 x AOC Q2963PM 29" Professional Super-Wide LED Multimedia Monitor - Gunmetal £299.99
1 x Hazro HZ29WiA 8-Bit 29" LED Super-Widescreen Professional Monitor - Black £299.99
Total : £614.98 (includes shipping : £12.50).
The increased size would be a plus, movies and games would look great and the ultra wide screen would be handy for viewing multiple applications when editing, I'm just not sure how good the screens are?
Then after seeing a few threads I cant get the idea of a multiple screen set up out of my head, but I'm pretty clueless about it to be honest.
I'd want the screens to act as one large desktop which would be great for multitasking and gaming but not sure how it would look watching movies with the gaps between screens? guessing you'd soon get used to it.
I assume all games would run fine like this and thats even if my gfx card is up to the task, again assuming it is? (His iceQ 7950)
Do you need any additional programs to run multiple screens?
Think I'd have to go 22" and 3 of these should just fit on my work top.
YOUR BASKET
1 x iiyama Prolite XU2290 22" Widescreen Slim Bezel LED Multimedia Monitor - Black £115.99
Total : £125.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).
IPS panel with fairly quick response time and by the looks of it a thin bezel but is it a waste of time using 22" monitors for a mutli monitor set up? Would a 29" be a better option?
As you can see I'm totally confused what to do so help me solve the madness.
