Yes the dell has 80000:1 instead of 50000:1 and it also has a webcam but the samsung just looks soooo much nicer to my eye plus it has the touch buttons...

Can anyone give there opinions to wether i made the right or wrong choice? cheers!

Luke

Might of gone for the Dell myself, it has HDMI, and 1:1 pixel mapping. And a bigger rez, though you'd need a monster graphics card for gaming! (though the mapping would help here).

i only have a 9800GX2 anyway so i wont be able to run full res on the samsung let alone the Dell, and not even sure games have that res on the dell to run in??

I just think the dell looks ugly.

But all in all will i be happy with my new samsung screen or possibly disapointed? cheers for reply!

Well my thinking was, with the 1:1 pixel mapping you could run at lower rez's, and the monitor's a bit more future proofed with that rez (fast forward a couple of years), and the HDMI is useful, as is the webcam. Looks OK to me, but "eye of the beholder" and all that.

And the second review down says all his games recognise the rez!

Nice monitors either way! :)

I'm sure you'll be happy with it. I personally would've gone with the Dell Ultrasharp 22", because it uses an e-IPS panel, which is much better than a TN panel. But then, you have to sacrifice 1" of screen, and a cut down res, so it's not like it's the perfect choice. The new samsungs look good, and if I had to choose between the 23" sammy and 23" dell, I'd have gone for the samsung, like you have.
