New monitor query..

After 8 years I’ve bought myself a new monitor..Gigabyte - M32U

im not sure if it’s working as expected. Games are showing 120fpS in software, but the monitor it’s self is showing 60fps.

how do I know how many FPS I’m actually seeing?

All good, found the windows 11 settings and enabled VRR.

if the GPU is generating 120 it doesn't mean the screen can show this.
also i see it 144hz @ 4k you would have to use the right port on the GPU only 1 of them will be capable of going to this FPS @ 4k.

i had the same this with my 165hz 1440p, it was capped at 120hz till i used the right display port.
what GPU do you have

It's a 4070ti, using HDMI and there is only 1 HDMI port, seems to be working fine now I've changes the windows settings.

you will be capped at 120hz HDMI 2.1 can only do 4k@120hz

if the post is only HDMI 2.0 it will be capped at 60hz but it should really be 2.1 on a 4000 card

Seems like you got the answer, but try switching back and tell me you can't feel' the difference 60Hz feels like playing through treacle after using 120+ for a while, even in windows just navigating menus for that matter.
