Hey all,

Been a while since I've done this so might be a bit of a challenge. Essentially I have a rather old system that I'm not looking to upgrade as it serves it's purpose, except for my even more ancient monitor - a HP LP3065 which to save searching is a 30" with a resolution of 2560x1600. Love the real estate the monitor gives me, unfortunately it's huge as far as space it takes up on my desk, showing it's age a little and the brightness isn't really up to scratch anymore.

In my mind I'd like something along the lines of a 34" curved monitor (not ruling out a flat one), however I'm unsure if my graphics card will be "enough" - I have an old XFX r9 290. Saying that, I'm not doing anything graphics intensive, at the moment I'm playing Valheim, I don't have any other new games as my steam library is full of old stuff I've bought in sales and never got round to playing, Witcher 3 is probably the next newest game I own. I also however use the monitor for work, hence the need for a decent size and brightness. This is also where I start wondering if it's worth a change at all and if I'll be benefitting from doing this.

Anyway, definite requirements are -

Comparable resolution in something that's not going to take up half my desk - wall mounting is an option.
Connection for both pc and work laptop (hp elitebook 840 g3) - if it had more to allow me to hook up my ps4/xbox one that would be handy but not essential.
Have been looking at monitors around the £500 mark, like the Philips 346B1C. If it's worth paying more I'll certainly consider it though.
Would be nice if it had a built in KVM switch to save me on some wires.

Any thoughts?

I'm myself in same boat with 8½ year usage aproaching Dell U3014 and 3840x2160 (aka marketing's "4"K) is the first resolution which isn't downgrade after that.

Also if you care about desk space usage and what you get for it, just forget anything advertised with any super/ultra wide:
In reality those are ultra low screens wasting your desk space for small vertical image size.
