Hi,
I'm hoping for some advice with a new monitor. I currently have an old Iiyama prolite E2472HD screen but its starting to show its age a bit now and sometimes on scrolling ive notice a bit of blurring.

I started looking at some 27" screens such as the Asus MCG278Q & the Iiyama B2783QSU. However I've now not sure what I need...

I have an ATI 7800 series 2gb card & play a few games, however I cant play FPS as they make me feel nauseous. I've read conflicting views that 144hz may help with this or it may make it worse

I've also heard that sitting further back may help so in that case sticking with a 24" screen would be better than going for the 27".

If I did go for the 27" I think I would need 1440 res so make things nice & sharp, so please any help and recommendations would be greatly appreciated. My budget is around £400 max but I do like a bargain :p

I don't think 144hz will do much for you to be quite honest. I would look at this: https://www.overclockers.co.uk/sams...g-widescreen-led-monitor-black-mo-215-sa.html

You won't really be able to drive it to 4K right now outside of older games but once you do upgrade gpu as well, it will be superb. What games do you play btw?

The other option right now would be a 25'' 1440p, like https://www.overclockers.co.uk/aoc-...creen-led-monitor-silver-black-mo-029-ao.html

But I'd honestly recommend something with Freesync as a much better deal.

Would response time make much of an issue? I've never used a 144hz screen so whether it would help me I dont know, I guess its a case of whats best for the amount.

Games wise, I tend to play things like elite, star craft 2, diablo3, world of tanks plus I do have bio shock & half life 2 that I would still like to finish if I could stop feeling motion sick.

Is there any reason the Asus MG278Q dosent get much of a mention in here that I've noticed? I'm probably leaning towards over the BenQ XL2730Z as it looks like it has a slimmer bezel. Also the Acer XG270HU looks decent but not sure on the red bit :/
