looking at new monitors as i want something a bit bigger than my current 32" AOC which tbh has been a fantastic display at 1440p

requirements 4k 40"

current contenders

Dell utrasharp 43"
LC C2 48"
Philips 806 48"

the dell is a good size upgrade and probably a better fit on the desk but i'm not sure on the quality compared to the oled and the Philips appeals with the 4 sided ambilight adding some immersion for gaming,

use wise i do a lot of productivity stuff mainly office365 stuff and am likely to use it as a desktop display 6-8 hours a day which raises the potential worry of burn in.

thoughts guys and girls?

In regards to the LG C2, theres the 42" I use one in my set up but its mainly for gaming on PC and PS5

Have a look through the thread about it.

No idea on the other two you listed.

At that size OLED would be superb for gaming.
But productivity has so much static and high contrast image content making burn in (really uneven pixel wear) definite risk.
And office programs likely don't even go well for avoiding high brightness colours.
QD-OLED's higher brightness/efficiency would allow same brightness image at lower stress on pixels, but QD-OLED selection is awfully limited.

No LCD can compete against them in contrast/black value.
Though if you maintain more normal room illumination, lower contrast/worser black of LCDs becomes less meaningfull.
And response times shouldn't be anything new.

Dell have a good replacement policy on their displays for even single bad pixels. I lean towards them for that reason.

Like others have said if doing productivity work kn it might want to avoid oled depending.
