im looking at buying a new monitor, widescreen 20" +

bin looking at 22" Viewsonic VX2235wm, £335 on ocuk

seems good to me, 5ms response and i thought quite cheap

any1 have this and can tell me if its any good, or can any1 reccomend anything else?

widescreen is a must and budget of about £350

thx

joker.

If you can stretch your budget a little further then you won't be sorry with the NEC 20WGX2 - its an awesome screen.

I'm sure a lot of people with that viewsonic screen are having problems with lots of dead/flashing pixels?

hey sorry ive not been albe to get on for few days,

i was hoping to get as big as i could afford, so was looking for a little larger than the nec 20" but i will certainly check it out.

ive spoted this
Samsung SM-225BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver/Black (MO-048-SA)

only thing i dont like is the stand :p

Acer AL2216W 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver/Black (MO-029-AC)

this is a lot cheaper than the other 2, didnt see this

can any1 give me some help on these, if they have any major problems?

im realy hoping to get as large a size as i can, my friend has a 24" dell Fa(u may have seen his specing threads) he says its amazing, so im hoping to get close size to it.

thx for help

Here's a quote from igors in another thread for the same question

Well ... it seems that 22" TN range did introduce the problems when you have to decide about the final purchase choice is pretty much even more difficult. I would say this - if your choice is between the high quality 20" panels (like 20WGX2 or Samsung 215TW) probably 22" route is not the best option *unless* those 1" - 2" inches are really really important to you. Also, I have to say that because you are keeping the same 20" 1680x1050 resolution perceptive screen size might increase, but picture quality not. 22" panels may offer the best economical balance between the price and features but they can't match the quality of best 20" monitors - yet.

If your budget is tight and your choice is between 20" mid/low range (like LG L204WT or VX2025WM) ... I don't see any particular reason why not opt for the 22" range.

I had the viewsonic and wasn't impressed. Viewing angles were awful although it does look the dogs! I would avoid the TN panels if you can, i've just ordered the NEC which I've not heard a bad word about can report when it arrives!

The only thing going for the Acer is that it is 24". The Dell 24" or the NEC I suggested earlier is by far superior. Plus its a lot of money and Acer after sales support is not the best.

my budget does not stretch that far, if i could afford i would, i was hoping to get as big as i could for around £350 ish

oks i desided i def getting a 22" so which of these would u reccomend

Acer AL2216W 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver/Black (MO-029-AC)

Samsung SM-225BW 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Silver/Black (MO-048-SA)

Viewsonic VX2235wm 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black (MO-060-VS)

if these are so bad then

Dell Ultrasharp 2007FP 20.1" Performance LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey (MO-010-DE)

this is back up monitor

From everything I've read it looks like the Samsung is the best of those three 22" screens. Seems there quite a few people having dead/flashing pixel problems with the Viewsonic, and I've heard a few negative comments about the quality of the Acer. None of them can match the size or viewing angles of the Dell of course, but then the Dell is twice as much.

grr i realy cant make up my mind now, out of the these 2 20" ones which is best, cheaper is better but if its a little more and a lot better quality i will opt for it.

Dell Ultrasharp 2007WFP 20" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Midnight Grey (MO-011-DE)
Price: £274.99 (£323.11 Including VAT at 17.5%)

NEC MultiSync® LCD20WGX2 20.1" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black/Silver (MO-009-NE)
Price: £309.99 (£364.24 Including VAT at 17.5%)
(this the NEC you all mean?)

the oterh NEC is too expensive, £400 +

ok im definatly geting a 20"....i think

this is getting so confusing.. which do i go for????? im looking for the same kind of thing. ive had a 19" widescreen before and i thought it was great but missed vertical space..

im not buying till january so i have some time to get some more solid reviews on the 22"s and see if there worth buying or not.. i think i'll probably go for the Dell in the end tho.. as it has more inputs and very good reviews.

is the NEC really that much of an improvement over the dell??

i dont think i can afford 2 NEC's ( i want a dual setup ) is it worth saving up for a bit more?
