Hi all,

It's probably been done to death but any help is appreciated as I have been so out of the loop with hardware recently.

I've just ordered the following system:

"Titan 300i Fiato" Intel Core i5 3570k @ 4.40GHz Overclocked Ivybridge Quad Core Gaming PC
Zalman Z9 Plus Tower Case with Fan Controller - Black
KFA2 GeForce GTX 670 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with a free copy of 3DMark advanced edition
OcUK 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-Bit - OEM (GFC-02050)
Samsung 120GB SSD 840 SATA 6Gb/s Basic - (MZ-7TD120BW)
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD

I'm looking to pair it with a spangly new monitor to show the best the graphics card has to offer. I have a budget of £200 or so (I can be flexible to an extent) and am not too precious on brands. My last monitor was a 21inch Samsung which was great 5 years ago but is starting to look dated.

Any help is much appreciated!

You'll still be looking at 1920*1080 with a £200 budget as 1440p screens still tend toward the £350+ margin, although I'm sure some would recommend the following monitor as your graphics card could certainly handle the higher resolution.

Alternatively a high end 24 inch monitor would be the way to go. You may want to consider a 120hz refresh rate as it's meant to provide a very smooth gaming experience with sufficient frame rate.

One option could be this:

It would also give you the option for 3D in the future should you choose to pick an nVidia vision kit.

Slightly more expensive is:

This also sports a 1ms response time which is as low as you're going to find.

Really it depends what you want most from your monitor though - IPS panels can provide better colour reproduction (Better for films, photo editing etc) with slightly slower response times and lower refresh rates. However I get the impression you're asking about the best for gaming so I'd say 120hz would be for you.

The Acer I linked only recently arrived at ocUK and has picked up a lot of positive reviews so it looks like a pretty good bet.

If you could give a little more info on what you're planning to do in terms of gaming/films etc I'm sure a few others could offer their thoughts as well :D

Edit: This BenQ could also be worth considering http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-070-BQ

Thanks for the reply JHS - the monitor will primarily be used for gaming, some films (although I have a new Samsung TV for that) and general browsing etc.

I'll review those monitors when I get back from work; I've checked that first one and it is tempting me to go over budget :E

I am about to get the Asus MX239H which has the best reviews everywhere, is there anyone who already has it for some extra opinion ? Thank you
