Hey guys I am currently looking for a new monitor, my current one is to be honest embarrassing. Its a Bush lt22m1cwa which I brought years and years ago, 22" HD, i believe are the only specifications worth noting haha.

I am currently building a new gaming rig to start PC gaming seriously and I would like a monitor that reflects my system nicely.

I will be running this GPU in my new system:
YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus Radeon R9 290 "Voltage Unlocked" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £359.99
Total : £369.59 (includes shipping : £8.00).

I'm looking at playing mainly Battlefield 4 with this system, and then Elder Scrolls Online when that is released. So some suggestions on the best monitor to run with would be greatly appreciated.

I'm looking at around a £500 max budget with a screen size of probably 24" maybe 27"

Many thanks and a happy new year to all :D

Two choices that I have recommended recently:

Asus Sonicmaster MX279H
- 27" 1920x1080
- IPS 60Hz
- all-around achiever
- £276

Eizo FG2421
- 24" 1920x1080
- VA 120Hz (and optional "240Hz" Lightboost-like feature)
- PWM-free backlight
- good for general stuff too, but especially for gaming
- £450

If gaming is the main purchase factor, then the Eizo is a very good option. And it's apparently the only consumer-grade 120Hz VA monitor currently available. There was at least another 120Hz VA from Eizo, which was made for satellite imaging, I think...? But cost quite a bit more, too. Although, if you have the patience to wait for a few weeks, there might be more monitor launches after the CES.
