Hello everyone,

I'm currently running Nvidia GPU's and I'm in the market for a new monitor. Ideally I'm wanting an ultra wide.

However, Gsync adds an extra £200+ onto the price of monitors. If I was to purchase a freesync monitor @ 144hz;

Would the gaming experience be noticeably improved to that of my 27" 60hz monitors I currently have?

I know 1080p is a low res for a 34" :( I'd ideally want all the bells and whistles of Gsync, 144hz+ and 1440p but I haven't seen any appealing monitors at a decent price point.

EDIT: Can I even make use of the 144hz with a Nvidia card?

Take it from someone who did the exact same thing as you before Christmas (I actually had to check it wasn't my own post!) don't do it!
I was really set for a new monitor and also decided that g-sync wasn't worth the premium so went for a freesync 165hz display. Yes the high refresh works as you'd expect but once you fire up a game that dips below 60fps you WILL miss g-sync believe me. I was playing a lot of racing games (F1 2017, dirt rally etc) and they were hitting easily 100+FPS on my system so I thought who needs g-sync but I went back to a couple of other titles I own (GTA V and FarCry 4) and they're 50-60fps at full settings on 1440p and my goodness you notice the lack of g-sync straight away.

Thank you. I think I will take your advice and will increase my budget for a monitor, it’ll last me much longer than any GPU so may as well go full out. Out of curiosity, did you keep the monitor?
