Hi Folks,

Been lurking in this section for about a month, reading every post to get the latest info, but what a minefield!!!
So, currently game on a 24" Dell P2414H. Lovely crisp picture blah blah, but always wanted to make the jump to 1440 at some point.

This (from days of trawling the internet) seems to be the best:
https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...ing-widescreen-led-monitor-bla-mo-095-ac.html

Would I actually see any benefit based on my current graphics? Witcher 3 at very high on 1080p vs slightly lower preset for 1440p, is it worth it?
I have never seen a 1440p (and no shops, or stores nearby where I could compare)
Freesync may help as no doubt I'd be dropping down to 40fps at times

Think I just need persuaded one way of the other. Damn upgrade itch!!

I think that your 480 would struggle at 1440p. Freesync would be a must. If it were me I'd look at the GPU first

I'm also in a similar boat as you at the moment - been looking at various IPS panels for a mix bag of things, and to be honest the Acer you've linked you cannot go with from what I've read as well. Apparently this model features a very similar panel to the one featured in the Asus PG279Q but look identical when compared in real time (apart from no G-Sync on the Acer).

I was meant to post this up earlier but also mention at the time that the Overclockers price is more steep when compared to another known site online who are selling it for a hefty reduction, however since then it looks like Overclockers have not only matched the price but are also now £10.00 or so cheaper. This makes this monitor a steal at this price point !!

Liam.

Well, after a lot of debating, wife told me 'just buy it, you never get anything for yourslef'. So, purchased today. As a bonus, I put it through my business, so hopefully get the VAT back ;)
