You'd be better off with a TV, and 32" 4K models aren't much bang for the buck from what I've seen.

In fact they often seem to be technically worse and more expensive than larger TV's.

You would probably be better off asking if a mod could move this post to: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/community/home-cinema-hi-fi.29/

You'll get better feedback for your usage.

If space isn't an issue, you can get a 55" Hisense U6 for £350 and the U7 can be had for around the £500 mark. Both are FALD mini LED models that work decently for HDR content, it makes them solid for movies which is your main usage. You can actually find the 65" version of the U6 for under £500 too, but I'm assuming you don't have a ton of room due to initially looking for 32" screens.

Iiyama is Japanese. I have one of their monitors, its a VA monitor. It is pretty bright, I've been happy with it. However, I expect an OLED TV would have better picture quality.

Are you aware of some deal on 42" OLED's that bring them into the region of a £500 budget?

Everything I'm looking at is around the £650-750 mark for an OLED of that size.

Not that I'm aware. Just that oled is first choice for movies/TV. Best for viewing angle, colours, motion, scaling, black level etc

For console gaming I'd go LCD...even though oled will still be better for gaming as well but risk of screen burn. I guess if have disposable income if old is damaged after so many years gaming just get a new one. Not everyone can do that and certainly not me.

Lcd has issues like LEDs dying /aging going purple etc. my monitor has purple/blue led and it's annoying

The problem is that they're also close to 50% more expensive than his budget, it's like my going into your GPU thread and telling you to buy a 4090 because it's the best for games.

You can still get a very good experience from more mid range TV's, and everyone has different expectations.
