Hi all. Pretty simple one. Need new monitor, what's your opinion on the best gaming monitor available at the moment at around £300. can go a little higher if needed. Don't want to go massive. around 27-30 inch is fine

What resolution are you wanting to play in?

Or if you’re undecided then maybe the specs of your machine would help.

1440p is probably your best bet as a bit nicer to look at than 1080p but half as demanding as 4k.

Depends on what games and machine you have but there’s 165 htz 27 inch on overlcockers for just over £200 and a 240 htz one for just under 300

This looks like a pretty good deal at the moment

Or on the upper end of you’re budget there’s a 240 htz option

You ought to check for Gsync / freesync and your hardware. Someone would be better placed to make a recommendation if you shared your specs and what you’re going to play on it too

If going 165hz, I'd just get this..ips 1440p panel for £140. A year or so ago these were all £200+, but they've all come down in price with the advent of oled panels, which are better for gaming with instant respose times, perfect blacks, so all good hdr...and a 27" 1440p 360hz qd oled is £600...basically, ips panels had to drop in price to compete.

you can get fast ips panels, but the pixels still can't respond as well as oled, so I'm not convinced they're worth it. Also depends on the type of gaming you do. If you're 1st person shooters then guess the higher frame rate monitors are better, but I'd keep saving for an oled...you're in the halfway house at £300-$300

I'd probably avoid the va panels for smearing

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £139.99 (includes delivery: £0.00)

£600 will get you sopmething like the alienware QD oled aw2725DF 360hz screen
£500 can get you the philips Evnia 34 ultrawide 175hz qd oled (34M2C6500) or the standard Evnia 27M2N8500 1440p 360hz oled
£400 drops to 4k ips 360hz aw2725QF or AW2723DF ips nano colur 360hz 1440p

Double check the model numbers for monitors you buy on OCUK on the manufacturers website, OCUK have been known to list incorrect info regarding panel types.

VA's advertised as IPS etc.
