New monttor please!!

I will be ordering the Asus GTX980Ti Strix and will need a new monitor for gaming purposes now i have a choice upgrade to; 1080p @ 144Hz, 1440p @ 144hz or go for a 4k @ 60Hz.
I know the ROG swift is very good and bad (good when it works but high failure rate) but im not certain of the best choice to 'feature proof' my monitor choice. would prefer to get G-sync but not essential. just need some options to look at

Personally, I am waiting for the new ROG, the PG279Q, IPS 144Hz and G-Sync... but there's nothing wrong with the current Swift if you're OK with a TN panel and the limitations it has. There's also the Acer XB270HU IPS, although there have been QC issues with that, plus it's not the best looking of monitors. 1080p with a 980Ti is a bit of a waste IMO... 1440p is an excellent upgrade, and 144Hz G-Sync will really add to that overall gaming experience immeasurably. I wouldn't bother with 4K... it's limited to 60Hz and will be for sometime (until DP 1.3 makes its way on to the next gen of GPU's and the monitors themselves). There really isn't a good argument for 4K when you stack it up against what 1440p at 144Hz offers overall.
