New moonshot with the Scope

Was just about to head to bed the other night and as I was locking up the house I made the mistake of having a look at the sky :rolleyes:

Had to dig the scope out and bolt on the camera

If you click the image it will link you to the original unresized version from the D4S that you can zoom into and see more of the crater detail

Great photo! Probably a silly question but how do you connect up a DSLR to a telescope to get images like this?

It's very simply actually. All you need is an adaptor for you camera whether it's Nikon or Canon. One side fits the camera like any standard lens and the other end screws onto the telescope. The adaptors are cheap as chips, under £10.

The fun bit is getting the camera settings right, but that's an entirely different story ;)
 
Cracking shot though....Bet that scope is less mobile than a 70-200

Dam thing weighs a ton. It's a bit of a beast, probably more than 6 feet tall with the tripod fully extended. It does need to be heavy for stability. It also takes slightly more than 5 minutes to set-up.

Don't fancy lugging it about shooting birds :D
