New MotherBoard . will this work ok ?

Hi Guys
my mate is just about ready to order some new kit as his old pc blow up .anyway this is what hes thinking about buying

Gigabyte GA_965P_S3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit

intel Core 2 DUO E6300 "LGA775 Allendale" 1.86GHz (1066FSB) - Retail

it will be all run from a 480 watt PSU. hes not in to overclocking so it will be all run at stock . can anyone see any problems with the above items .i hear that many stories about ram not working on the Gigabyte boards

That should all be fine. I'm running Geil in a Gigabyte board.

Nope the pc6400 stuff. But it's the pretty much same RAM as the pc5300 except it's been tested to run at pc6400 levels.

fwiw, I had one of these gb boards and corsair 2GB listed on their website. build failed. switched to a AW9D Max, and no complaints. I believe the Geil memory has no such problems though. good luck with your build.
