Hey all,

I'm currently using the Microsoft Wheel Mouse Optical and have been for many years (Mfr Part Number: D66-00073) and am looking at upgrading to a 'Gaming Mouse' for under about £30-35.

I've been looking at the SteelSeries Kinzu, but hear it's quite small, do you think I'd have problems changing to that from the MS one? I see the Xai is a bit bigger, but it's a load more expensive.

I'm not looking for any fancy side buttons or indents for thumbs (had a G5 and hated it, especially the middle mouse click and the scroolwheel felt naff). The middle mouse click has to be soft and easy to press. :D

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

As you have stated yeah the Kinzu is the little brother of the Xai which is fantastic.
However for the price point you are looking at Razer Deathadder, the new Zowie mouse ( similar to a Microsoft Intellimouse) Fantastic hand shaped form (similar to xai) also logitech g500 but not sure if that was the mouse you were refering to. Anyway there are a few suggestions :)

g500 is a large improvement over the g5. The scroll wheel is nicer, and can be changed between clicky spin and free spin at the touch of a button. If you didnt like the shape then fair enough, but the rest of it has improved a lot, and its pretty cheap now.

Thanks a lot for the posts, if anyone has any other ideas keep 'em coming!

Had a look at the suggested ones, not a real fan of that Zowie one, the deathadder I really don't like the fanned mouse buttons (I'm not ALL about looks, but sometimes looks = feel.)

The g500 looks alright, but for 30-40 quid, I may aswell spend the extra 20 quid on the Xai.

How is the Xai? I'm a 'claw grip' as far as I know, usually resting the bottom (ball?) of my hand on the desk/pad and just moving the mouse around with my fingers.

Cheers!

Intellimouse 3.0

Win.

:Edit: On another note, that "claw" method just seems totally alien to me - I can't understand how people can game properly when not moving their entire wrist and forearm... maybe I played too much CS.

Had no idea the G500 was 30-40 on here, I saw it for £26 the other day elsewhere and thought that it had come down a lot, but i think that might have been before the vat rise.

Thanks a lot for the info/posts guys. Think I'm just going to bite the bullet and go with the Xai, and hope it's everything I want - I havn't bought a mouse in years so it's not THAT steep of a price I guess.

Pairing the Xai with teh Boogie Bug Aim.B pad, wish me luck! :p

..Now to find a keyboard that fits my ultra precise requirements :/..

Cheers!
