New mouse needed torn between 2...

Hi all,

As my Razer Diamond back is pretty much knackered, please can people help me out with a decision on a new mouse.

I really like the diamondback and i notice the krait is a very good price, however the logitech on this weeks offer is also very tempting. I dont use any of the extra buttons.

Is the Krait basically a diamondback but with only 3 buttons?

You don't use the extra buttons?! The thumb buttons on my MX518 looked useless, boy was i wrong

Basically, never knock them til you try them

on all my mice i only ever use the 3 buttons

dont see the need to use the others!

Back / Foward in browser can be handy and also in games like WoW or CS or CoD4 it can be handy having those extra buttons for fast switching between weapons or using spells / abilities. If you ain't used to them then you're more likely to not use them, just get yourself to use them!

Well I'd personally recommend a new dimondback 3G as you'd probably be used to the shape but if you're after Krait of logitech, I'd probably recommend the Krait just because I prefer razer...

ps I have an original dimondback and need a replacement as well I'm finding the decision pretty hard as I'm really picky looking at the deathadder myself... (Don't really want to get the same mouse as I like to 'upgrade').

I have to recommend the Logitech MX518, its a brilliant mouse and currently at a brilliant price

I can't imagine not having the back thumb button now, it makes browsing so much easier.

whats happened to your mouse?

mine keeps disconnecting from the pc and computer keeps saying an unrecofnisable usb device has been connected.

i am not too fussed on an upgrade as such. The krait seems to tick most of the boxes, and as stated extra buttons dont really bother me.

Mines still okay but the mouse I use at work is terrible so looking to get a new mouse so that I can use my db at work

Bought this, it was the fact it was almost £10 cheaper and after doing various searches it does seem to get a lot of praise.

G5 is a laser mouse whilst the mx518 is an optical, i would rather use an optical mouse as i cant get used to this G5

I have both the G5 and MX518, they feel identical in my hand and are the perfect shape for it. The G5 is laser and has lots of weights; the 2007 edition looks cooler as well. Lovely blue and black pattern on it.
