My Logitec G7 is dying (going back on warranty) and logitech are going to replace it with a MX revolution i had a handle of one today, and hated it.

So i'm after a new mouse, so when i get the warranty i can flog the MX.

I'm looking at:

Razer Lachesis Banshee Blue 4000dpi

Or

Logitech G9 Gaming-Grade Laser

People say the logitech looks horrible, but function over looks, i play at high DPI, Mainly play CSS so fast movements are a must, over control.

The Logitech i love the variable DPI function on my g7. Also the shape and feel. This is what is making me think G9 all the way.

But a lot of my gaming buddies swear by Razor Mice.

The Razor is £15 cheaper so its a bit cheaper but that doesn't fuss me.

hey i bought the razer about 3 weeks ago
going from a crappy microsoft optical lol
was a bit sceptical about buying it at first but took a leap of faith and havent regretted it since
it took a while to get used to but its amazing :)
my mate uses a logitech and i hate it

my vote goes for the Razer

oh and plus you get a really cool mouse control centre to create your own profiles for use in different situations or games cause obviously supreme commander isnt going to need 4000 dpi whereas you might use it in css

I was torn between the Razer Lachesis and the G9. I ended up getting the G9 and I don't regret it. It's been a long time since I've held a G7 but I'm quite certain the G9 is considerably smaller in your hand so that may be something to consider.

I find the G9 very comfortable to hold. It's also not nearly as ugly looking in person as it is in the photos. I quite like mine.

dpi is just a marketing gimmick so you should really worry too much about that..get the new g5's (the blue ones) as im assuming youre already used to the shape of the g7 so you wont have to adapt to a new mouse..

dpi isnt important you can just increase your sensitivity regardless of having 400dpi or 2000dpi

You're best off going for a MX518 or a Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 because as said above, DPI is just a gimmick. If you go on a gaming site they'll all say IME 3.0 or MX51*.

Razer Deathadder is good though, but I think they break a lot...

I'd rather play at higher DPI than sensitivity due to the whole thing of the it spazzing out at high senc, I play at 2.0/2.5 on CSS and would like lower if i could get it fast enough.

I think i'm gunna order that lachis, and see if Logitech will supple me a G9 if i pay the extra ontop on hte MX.
