I'm toying with getting a new gaming mouse and was thinking of one of the Razers, possibly a deathadder. I've heard of compatability problems with Asus mobos tho. What do you all think?

It is good to see that there is such a level of agreement here. :p

The best thing I think you can ever do is to try and test a few mice, if necessary pop into your local PC shop when it is quiet and ask to try out a few. For whatever it is worth, and just to complicate matters, the Logitech G5 would be quite a good option.

In my experience, a mouse is a very personal judgement depending on what size, weight and buttons you want. I have a G5 and love it, but the MX518 is the same size/shape but with a slightly different button layout.

My advice would be to stick with a wired mouse, and choose the one that you like the size and shape of. I'd wholeheartedly recommend getting a decent mouse mat as well, it really makes a big difference :)

Copperhead is awesome technology, but the ergonomics aren't the best I'm afraid. Just went back to an MX300. I can't stand it no more. :D

Looking at a MX518 now.. maybe deathadder/habu, they seem better ergonomics with great technology or maybe G5 I dunno...

you should go to a big computer store which has them lined up and test them out ;)

habu has been amazing for me. I whole heartedly recomend it.

i agree with this guy its an amazing mouse, i loved mine untill i came in drunk knocked it off my desk then stood on it :p

decided on somthing different this time and went for a Ikari optical.

depends on what you are used to - what mouse have you been using?

personally like the DeathAdder cause it's the same feel as the old MS Int Exp V3.

very light weight mouse whereas the logi's tend to be a bit heavier....

Just pulled up a random ASUS Bios release:
Description P5N-E SLI beta BIOS 0801
1. Fix system hangs when using Razer Copperhead USB Mouse.
2. Improve compatibility with Creative X-Fi sound card.

I'd imagine they have/will fix it for all boards with reported issues.

But personally I would go for the 2nd Gen Logitech G5 :)
