Hey all first post here but have been reading the forums for quite awhile, I'll get straight to the point after 5 years my poor I-River H340 has almost given up the go with regards to battery life and I am now looking to get a new Mp3 player, problem being that I have no clue which one to get.

The main problem I am having is the interfaces on the newer Mp3's I have looked at seem to take over how they sort your music; currently and sorry for the crude diagram I have the following file structure on the H340:

A/Artists/Albums/Song
B/Artists/Albums/Song
C/Artists/Albums/Song
D/Artists/Albums/Song

This for me works quite well It gives a high level structure which is easy to look through and means that I can search really fast for the different artist I want, however just by going on demos of say Ipods and such it would seem you can only really sort by Artist or Album etc. I think this would drive me spare considering my collection is quite large and not always labelled the best, as well as having various demo disc’s in my collection this would leave me with a lot of 1 song per artist scenario’s, obviously this is only based on demos I have played with and hopefully you lot can tell me otherwise, I did try a Zune while I was in the states recently and I really liked it, however again the sorting system was the same.

If anyone could recommend me an Mp3 that is not an IPOD, Ideally it would be nice to have 40gig+, No software needed to transfer music, Video playback nice but not required, Flac Codec support (Nice but not 100% required)

Thanks

Sony A81*, A72* or A82* Walkmans can browse by Artist, Albums, Songs etc like any ipod but the Sony's also can browes by Folder which I find VERY useful and I think this is what you want!

Not really, however due to the size of my H340 I would also prefer to get something alittle smaller that fits better in my pocket.
