Hi all,

Ordered my N70 on T-Mobile with flext and web and walk. It's arriving tomorrow :D but I just wanted to see if there is anything I need to look out for with the phone?

I understand from various sites that there is an issue with N70's and tomtom mobile with earlier firmware versions, and I am planning to get it debranded soon, but is there anything else I need to keep my eye out for?

Also can anyone recommend an incar bluetooth solution? I've already got a jabbra hands free untils which works very well with my SE T610 but I want something I can install and not have to have a mic stuck in my ear all the time.

many thanks

The tomtom issue is with all firmwares that includes the latest v5, in fact the bluetooth support on the N70 is pretty dire to say the least.

Can't believe I got rid of my w800 for one, it was so much better :(

the moment you start filling up the Phones Memory... thats it... id like to see if theres such thing as a defragging toold for the N70... at the moment, its so slow i just hate it!

Beware if you get the phone debranded then the warranty is null and void unless you can flash it back before you take it back if you do have problems!

Ok I understand that now, but if the phone doesn't have the latest firmware on it, can I just take it into a t-mobile store and get them to flash it, or am i stuck with the firemware that came with the phone?

Erm im not sure on that? The N70 is a popular phone so chances are there stock would be a up to date firmware. Pop into a store and explain the problem see if they open one to check?

A tip for anyone using a S60 is to install/store everything you can on the external memory card. The space on the internal memory doubles up as the phone's RAM, so the more you fill it up the less RAM you have free.

I make sure all apps are on the memory card and to default photos and videoes to the memory card too.

This is even more important with the new S60 phones (N80, N91, etc) as the external memory card shows up as a regular drive under Windows when you plug the phone in via USB.

I also feel that the backslider camera thingy, is getting slacker, ive had this replacement for only 1 month!

Thanks for the replies all. I've had t now for a couple of days and i'm pretty impressed. where as my old T610's battery would be dead by now, the N70 is still at full strength :)

I got mt N70 locked to 3 on wednesday, lovely phone but don't believe the battery strength indicator. My battery will last for approx 32hours. The battery strength indicator will show full for 30 of those hours, in the last 4-6 hours it will drop very quickly and it will start beeping low battery warning, I have never seen a battery drop off so quickly.

Damn good phone, feature packed but like all 3G phones they really hammer the batteries.
