New NEC 23" IPS display

About time something even remotely interesting came the monitor way. Usually all you hear is "new 22" TN screen, exactly the same as last time, just a slightly different bezel, moar contrast ratio and a higher price tag". Occasionally the odd LED backlighting, but still no LED backlit IPS or VA panels.

argghhhhh

anyone think I can make my old crt last with my i7 build till autumn??

this could be a great monitor circa £300, even if full hd means it'll be 1920 x 1080. when this being stocked then??

Good to see another IPS monitor hitting the market - wish they would hurry up though with the release - still waiting on the LG monitors too (W2220P and W2420P) which probably wont come out this month as planned

not idiots just business men.

Full hd means one 'run' when cutting panels for hd tv's and monitors alike. Less production time, supposedly more panels from each 'sheet' all means more profit. . . .

Would have thought 1:1 mapping when playing movies is better for the consumer as well. Desktop space is obviously a little less but 1920x1200 would i'm sure be harder to actually use at 23". Far less of an issue in most games too.

Agreed 100%

Market is just recession feeding with nothing but TN panels with 3d marketing and the usual boosted specs, and boring low quality TN underneath.

Definatly need some fresh 23/24inch tfts with IPS/PVA/VA high quality panels with boosted specs ;)
