New Network - Basic advice

I'm looking to set up a home network via my BT Home Hub. I'll have 2 x PC wired to the hub with PS3 wireless.

I want to access video and media on one PC from the PS3 and the other PC.
I've tried to do this before without success via a router.

Does anyone have any basic tips that would help me set his up?

I'm thinking folder/access options, File Sharing permissions, basic Hub settings etc.

Hi. I'm using XP & Vista 32bit on the two PC's. PC with media is XP.

Last time I did this all three were sharing internet connection fine but could not access/stream files.
