New Nissan X-Trail

The whole point of big cars like this, is to have a degree of comfortable performance.

I've got a 300bhp 4.4 V8 Petrol on an old school slush box automatic. OK, it does 0-60 in about 8 seconds, and it isn't exactly a veyron above 60, but it never feels out of breath really and goes well.

A 1.6 diesel in a car like this, is madness.

It's an improvement on the predecessor (wouldn't be hard) but paying over £30k for a 1.6 dagdag?! It'll do very very well in Australia powered by an asthmatic 2.0 4 pot petrol though...

Ive not seen it in the flesh yet, but from what ive read and what ive seen online i prefer the current gen Xtrail. Its much more practical inside (cupholders etc etc), it has just as good a 4wd system (possibly better) and has the more powerful 2.0 diesel.

we were looking at these as a new family wagon, but I dont think the new one fits the bill.... will still go have a look when they come in.

Nothing wrong with 10 seconds for a 1.6 diesel. Its as quick as a 1.6 petrol Astra or Focus and large numbers of people have no issues with that.
