new nvidia card?

I don't think these are actually graphics cards in the sense that it produces an image for display on a monitor. It's using a multicore GPU as an add in processor like an old school maths co-processor.

I seem to remember when they were first announced that you could install them in clusters for your own desktop supercomputer :cool: .

*language!* a physx card and get one of these instead :D
 
ah yeah ive heard of these. if you use the CUDA drivers off the nvidia site you can use them as very powerful cpu's with number crunching applications.

never ever got the stuff to work though (works with any 8800) as theres a LOT of C++ coding involved, and im only just starting to learn that
 
Ok, I can have one of these 9800 (I know it's not a tesla but.. :p) cards, I got a letter yesterday saying my CC limit has been upgraded from £500 to £1300.

Let's just say I'm very happy, Crysis, new nvidia card, UT2007, Bioshock and awesome speeeeeed!
