Some of you will be seeing projects 5508-5513 and 5017-5022 being crunched on your nvidia cards.

Info here: http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.php?f=52&t=5452

I've got a 5509 WU at the moment and my ppd is down from 4900 to 3080. Not far off a 2000ppd loss!

It's good that these new WUs bring the Nvidia and ATI cards closer together in points though.

I saw one the other day. These are not good news for nV folders, and there's not really any way of avoiding them. PPD on my GT took a dive from 5000 to 3300. Still, at least it's an incentive for the ATI guys to get into folding without being trampled on by the nV cards!

Also note that your GPU will probably run hotter with these new WUs, so if your temps are borderline it's something to think about.

My plan was to get to a million points before September 25th (back to Uni in early October, folding beast stays at home.) This has thrown a large spanner in the works. The 4850s are looking mighty good for the money, so if ATI take the performance lead in FAH, I might have to switch over!

*shrug* I think its better myself, and as long as:
A) The science is being done better than it was with the "test" wu's before.
B) Everyone is in the same boat, makes for more interesting stats :)

Defintely a better way of looking at it, silver lining and all!! More PPD whichever way it pans out and as you say, if in the long run everyone gets affected the same, no harm no foul :)

On a slightly different note, I'm crunching a WU from 2665 which is really kicking my SMP in to touch also, over 2d for this WU and I've lost about 500 PPD over other WU's I've had.

Yeah, I spotted one of these last night.
430pts instead of 480 and take 2hrs instead of 90minutes. :(

And I'm having problems with the network connection in the Vista box which means I can't always get a new WU as soon as the old one is finished.

Hehe, well as above, its more crunching. I just finished putting my Accelero S1 on the 8800GT will install it tomorrow and then let the overclocking begin!!

I'll post some pics, it looks a tad overkill with 2 120mm Xilence fans on it :) but at least I should get plenty of OC overhead.

Well it's the same for everyone, so won't really mean anything except that AMD users will now have a better chance of catching up :)

Had 2 of the EUE today, laptop GPU's throttled back mid unit (2 at the same time is suicide) causing them to brick out =/

I haven't had any die on me yet, but yesterday I did 10wu (2 above average, wasn't using the PC much :)) and they scored 1000ppd less the last day I did 10!

I been robbed...

Grrr!

News from the dev team:

So we're looking into the oveheating issues now (first we've heard of them) and I am validating my latest optimzations which should recover about half of the "missing" PPD so to speak.
