Hiya's,

First off my install started with the need to reset my modem lol, CS were great and i was up n running quickly (wednesday 16th july)

Now, My modem is the 780wl (from reading the o2 version of a speedtouch)

When i check on the o2 site after logging in to check stats etc, My DSL Connection part comes up with "Modulation: G.992.5 annex A"

Shouldn't that read annex M ?????

And also, Do i leave my modem on for 10 days or something ? (reading bits about it's self adjusting at the exchange to self sort optimal conx)

It started at a high conx rate but through subsequent powerdowns the speeds seem to be dropping or nudging up n dropping etc (hence question above)

I've come across other posts on forums and their stats show Annex M so curious and i'm sure i read that Annex M was better (i think)

Hope this makes sense

Many Thanks

Hiya's,

It was in a way AbsenceJam at the time of writing but now ........

Si MPS i found some easy to digest (noobie) stuff on annex m, Seems i best leave well alone for now and hope the initial speed testing on my conx goes well

My thinking rightly or wrongly (prolly wrongly lol) was with annex m implemented, It could have helped with my DL speed side of things but then again maybe not so leave as-is

Obviously i'm new to adsl hence many questions of which some may seem a tangent off the mark somewhat

:/jokemode So far i'm crossing my SN's and hoping for Low Attenuations :D

I now see there's no set exact equasions for adsl speeds but a rough equasion is possible

Cheers for replies :)

Hiya,

Cheers for reply tolien :)

Keep checking stats and watching Attenuation and SN's change lol

Fun learning new stuff though, Swapped BT's faceplate to a adsl nation XTE-2005 after reading good things about them

A question, If i was to go buy a Netgear DG834GT Would it be best to leave this o2 Thomson 780wl on and then swap for the netgear after 10 days ?

Many Thanks
