New Office PC build (no gaming)

Hey all, so I'm trying to grab a new office PC for my dad as his current one is extremely old now and still running Windows XP...it's used for doing some tasks in a retail business so just needs to be reliable and quick (which it really isn't right now, and I suggested an upgrade to be safe).

It won't be used for any gaming purposes at all (I already got him a custom PC from here for the same office for non-work related tasks and that's been running great, and it's less specs than below!).

Always buy PCs and components from here so didn't want to go elsewhere, and love the service.

So I'm looking at the systems in PC Systems > Configurator > Home and Small Office, and think I'll go for the B250 over the H110 to get a higher model i5 chip.

Looking at 16GB RAM so going with the Team Group Elite 16GB.

Few questions:
- Shall I stick with the ASUS Prime B250-Plus over the Pro?
- For the processor, I'm looking at i5, but which is the 7 models should I go for? 7400 or 7500? Would it be sufficient to stick with the 7400? Or is something like the 7500 regarded highly?
- I'll stick with a 2TB mechanical HDD, would it be fine to stick to the Seagate Barracuda over the WD Black?
- Stick to the default Cougar STX 450W PSU?
(also couldn't decide from the top 3 cases, and thinking the Antec)

- No graphics card or WiFi card needed (Ethernet only), but I'll add a DVD drive just incase.

An example would be as follows:

Any thoughts please? :)

The I3 7100 and 8 gb of ram should be more than enough for general use, case pick one you like. An SSD drive can make start up times and program loading much faster it would more benificial then overspeccing the pc.

Thanks for the reply mickyflinn, we just checked the current PC and it's currently got 232 GB and only 83.3 GB used after many, many years, so will probably grab a 500GB SSD for the speed (the PC is always on though).

You're right about the RAM too, I think 16 was an overkill choice for what he will be using it for (there will be quite a few applications/services running in the background but nothing too extensive to make use of 16 GB), so I'll drop to 8GB.

The reason I picked the i5 was I thought it might just be better in the long run and a bit better performance :).

Will most probably be placing an order tonight.

Hmm he does like his MMORPGs / top down RPG titles ;) haha. But that would be for the other PC only!

Thanks for your help though, will be deciding soon :).

This was the other option then (with the lower mobo option):

Quite a few options with the PSU but stuck to the default again, which hopefully should be fine I presume.

There is not much diffrence in performance between the 6100 and the 7100 the biggest is the cost of the motherboard in your first build, which has slightly better features.

Psu will be fine, backed by Overclockers build warranty.
