With the likely cost of work for guaranteedly finding fault and fixing it can't see many makers repairing much of actually faulty PSUs.
Even with some Asian worker cost it might be in average just cheaper to send factory fresh unit.
And some broken PSUs would likely need quite heavy rebuilding after already spending time (=money) in diagnostics.
If anything makers are going to look at that total cost.
Once returned they probably sell enblock to a third party as a pallet load of them Non working sold as seen 2nd's! happens in other areas.
Even as they pay peanuts for them Can't see them loosing a few $'s
Mind probably return as "Jizzmax 850watt"
