It's very noisey though. i think it's the PSU.

I want to run at stock for a while b4 I try overclocking to check everything out. I was wondering what changes to make to the system / bios.

I have enabled sata raid (intel) and enabled sata to operate in native IDE mode. Anything else I should do as a matter of course like changing fan settings or turning on a turbo option etc? Things you do that you know improves speed or stability or functionality etc so you just do it no questions asked.

Any other advice for a new system?

Thanks

Pete

The noise is the PSU (those are renowned for being noisy).

You could move the swap file off your boot/program drive to improve performance. Set it to a constant amount (say 4GB) as well to avoid the system wasting time changing it.

Follow the overclocking guide for the things to turn off in the BIOS.

Thanks.

I researched everything for weeks and never saw a single post about the PSU being noisey - bugger.

Will check out the OC sticky but won't that be for overclocking?
