Basically getting a new LCD is on hold for the moment so i am looking at upgrading the sound on my PC which is currently on-board to a set of decent headphones. My 360 is plugged into the on-board as well, which obviously is pretty rubbish at creating a the 360's sound through it.

So basically i need a soundcard that will be able to input the 360 with great clarity, have an output to my Hi-fi (which is across the room setup for the TV) so i can play my MP3's from the PC & maybe some PC speakers to sit next to my TFT for when am playing on the 360.

Now a direct optical input into some speakers would be great, it would mean bypassing the soundcard all together, but i dont know if you can do that, and i'd really only want two speakers and no sub if possible.

I hope am clear in what am asking for here, please feel free to share your wisdom and input as i've not bought a souncard since the SB16!!!! (And speakers for about 10 years)

I was thinking of the Creative Gigaworks T20.

I could input my PC though them (obviously) but with an Aux at the front i could put the 360 through it as well, and its got headphone socket which would be ideal for night.

To be honest i wouldn't even need a new soundcard (although i wouldn't mind one)

Its a shame it doesn't have an optical input, i doubt many 2.0's do, do they?
