Ok firstly Hi, just signed up and these forums seem very informative in some areas.

Well i have decided to build my first PC as up to now i have had a friend build them then upgrade them myself. Everytime i have had a PC i have had a rubbish case which has lead to all sorts of overheating problems.

Now i have around £100 ideally on a case, however would be willing to go a bit higher if their is anything better than the Eclipse for slightly more?

Also does the Eclipse come with fans as i have been looking around and its a bit of a mixed opinion as to what i would actually have to buy to make the case complete.

As for everything else I am looking at getting this, so will the case be suitable?

I am not sure how much this will cost but last time i priced it up it was setting me back £1200 without the 8800 GTX.

It is also worth mentioning i am primarily buying this to do all my design work which involves extremely large image files so hence why the larger hdd is needed and also to play Crysis on, as i think my Atlantis Sapphire 9800pro wont quite manage that :p , it struggles on everything now :(

Any help is appreciated, thanks :)

Hi,

At the moment I have got a Lian Li PC7 Plus which I cant fault at all, or the V1000 plus.

I think the Eclipse comes without fans.

IIRC The Eclipse gives you far much more room for the 8800GTX?

It gives a much more comfortable fit, but with one hard drive you can remove the hard drive mounting in the PC7+ to give you acres of space but only the capacity to hold 2 hard drives without resorting to silentmaxx drives or the like.

The Eclipse does not come with fans and will be right on budget, if you can go slightly higher then the Eclipse is ideal, but the PC7+ will be just as good for the spec listed with the benefit of coming with the fans.

Remove the hard drive caddy and fit the hard drive into the floppy area or into a Silentmaxx enclosure (highly recommended).

That will make the PC7+ a superb looking all singing all dancing case that will operate very quietly if you change a few fans in the future. A superb base of a computer to build upon in the coming years.

Thanks for the advice, is the side panel with the extra fan also a good option?

Oh and i am going with the Eclipse read a lot of review now and seems to do everything i need, but whats with the pci slot at the front :/ can you actually get use out of it?

Some fan controllers can use it so it is very handy for that, also USB ports, or just a gameport.

Up to you, but there are plenty of options open to you, anything on a PCI plate not connected directly to a PCI slot.

Cool, thanks Yewen, now just to decide on all the extras for the case itself then onto the components. Really struggling to choose the RAM this time round.
