Hi

Get the e6300 instead of the e6400 and save yourself some pennies to buy a decent heatsink & fan such as the freezer 7 pro.

Mike

I would get 2 Gb also - even if you need to swap graphics cards or downgrade cpu (even though I have found the higher E6400 multi is useful)

thnx for all yer imput, heres the deal, im looking on [A competitors] website, as its pretty good. the particular build im looking at doesnt go lower than E6400 prossesor and for some gay reason, there isnt a cooling and heatsink option and they dont tell you what fan, etc they use

1. i dont leave my pc on over night verry often (never on for 24hrs solid) so is an advanced cooling device REALLY nessesary

2. is 2gb of ram that important?

3. if i were to switch to the E6300 the motherbord would have to be:
ASUS P5B-TMX PCI-Express Mainboard - Pentium® D/Core™ 2 Duo - Micro ATX (no choice in the matter) i understand that this bord is a mini bord, does it matter and is this bord anygood compared to the P5N-E 650i SLI?

cheres in advance

First of all, and something I can't stress highly enough, remove the name of the competitors website.

If you were a business running a forum, I am pretty sure you wouldn't want people talking of other companies (not just because of advertising, but also because of lawsuits).

Imagine if there was Dark Angel computers, and someone said "these guys suck!" and another said "they cost 20x that of OCUK" could get Ocuk in trouble, just as much as if people said "wow, DA computers ROCKS!" (note, I dont have a business building computers, so don't worry mods :)

2GB of ram is pretty important, but not OMG get it now no matter what. If you need a bit of time to recoup your cash, you could make do with 1GB of ram, and then get another 1GB stick later on (say a few weeks) but games now really do need/love 2GB.

*EDIT*

You could always get an X1950 pro 256MB instead of the GT, they perform great, and will save you some cash. With DX10 going to be the norm is 6 months, use the saved cash on the RAM, and then upgrade to the best GPU in 6 months time :) (or at the least a great mid range DX10 card).

Nail head <------------- this post.

+1 for removing the competitor!
