If you can see any room for optimisation, please feel free. Kinda want to wait for the AOC 34" 1440p screen, but god knows how long it'll be. I want the PC to be completely optimised for VR gameplay, once prices drop.

Budget circa ~£2500

DCS World ( Primary )
Flight Sim 2020
Arma/Milsim(s)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,212.77 (includes shipping: £28.02)

34" 1440p UW IPS screen. though only 75hz...but at least you don't have to deal with the VA ghosting when fps drops
also for the same total cost price can get a 2080 super
get windows elsewhere for cheaper. wouldn't recommend buying it at full retail price.

Looks nice
Though lists and baskets aren't my

Double check for you
Personally I would swap the 970 evo
For corsair mp510
And see Tamzzy already double checking it lol
Shows how long it takes me to get
A reply out
With having to Reread everything I type:D:D:D:D

Thank you both for responding to my message and request.

I'd like to know the major difference between the b450 and x570? I've noted b450 doesn't support 3200mhz ram ( unless overclocked ). Will this present a problem? What are the pros and cons for the boards.

you've selected a different case, what are your reasonings? The Be Quiet 500 have so many excellent reviews.

I need to do some reading around VA ghosting. At what fps drop will you notice this?

Many thanks

All ram above 2400 is technically overclocked even just enabling xmp, b450 will support up to 4000+ ram if your using a 3000 series CPU as it's the CPUs IMC that matters, for example if your using an x570 with a ryzen 7 1700 even though the board says you can run ram at 4000+ you would be lucky to get any higher than 3200 as it's down to the CPU.

That is really helpful, thank you. Are there any additional benefits between 570 over 450?

The main differences are with x570 you get pcie gen 4 which matters if you need super fast storage although most people wont unless you are moving a lot of data around regularly, x570 also gets more chipset lanes so you get better speeds if running multiple nvme or if you want to run 2 GPUs and more USB 3.2 ports. X570 also has better vrms apart from the budget x570 MSI boards so are a better choice if running over 8 cores, that's not to say you cant run over 8 cores on a b450 but you generally want to stick to the higher end MSI boards if your planning that and also have a good airflow case.

For a gaming PC b450 is perfectly fine especially when on a budget and if you can use the saving to get a better gpu, if budget matters less and you just want the best then x570 is the go to option, just dont get an MSI x570 if your spending less than £250.

nvidia and non g-sync screen ? just slap in 5700XT . Then again Nvidia should be announcing something this month.

b550 ... but have to see if coronavirus is effecting release timeframe

mmm double checking, looking at VR then intel will have the lead . Valve index is 1440x 1600 = 2.m Pixels , HD is 1920x1080= 2.07m and WQX is 2560x1440= 3.67m pixels.

You'll be bound by Both ! GPU takes the hit but if you've got a budget to run say a 2080 Super or 2080ti on some of the lwer end VR games but pushing as high as framerate to max VR refresh rate, the CPU will be the bottle neck. Plus most are only coded for 4 cores.

going 1440P or ultra wide 1440p then its an even game between AMD and Intel, AMD is the better choice in terms of price forgoing X570 Mobo !

@sweols if pushing for Valve Index or VR setset with lower resolution and gaming to play Half Life :Alyx - Intel Version . though Intel should be making details end of month for 10th gen. should be same pricing but all with Hyper threading . If they were smart, need to drop the pricing though!

I have a Be Quiet p900 case, its a bit big but well made with plenty of space and it is very quite, it will last a long time

Hi,

After a lot of humming and jarring, I increased the budget slightly and ended up getting a 2070 Super. Unfortunately, 2080 is out of my price range. I also ended up with a 570 board, 3700x ryzen, amongst many other goodies. Final price incl screen and accessories, £2.5I

Need to get TrackIR5 too..

What did you get as with £2k plus budget 2080 super or 2080ti would have been done nicely

2070s should do well with flight sim, 2020 is looking ace. did you go wide screen in the end ?

I ended up going for IPS 60hz. As itll be used for flightsim games such as dcs world etc, i wont have the horse power to go much above 60fps anyway

Also bought TrackIR 5 from a different supplier! OcUKs support has been phenomenal as per usual. Highly recommend both Damien and Ben.

shame on pre-order- just give better longevity to a monitor . also should support G-sync soonish
