Ok so I got a new PC (new to me anyways) off a friend, and set it up yesterday by just uninstalling all my drivers and mobo resources, then sticking my HDD's into the new machine.

All went well and was up and running within an hour.

However I have sound issues now in BF2.

all the effects and music sound fine but any of the voice things such as "Enemy Armour Spotted", "Attack this position" etc all come out wobbly and stretched which is very irritating.

It is the same sound card (Sound Blaster Live 5.1) as I had in my old PC and I have all sound settings set to medium.

Absolutely everything else works except those bits, anyone got any ideas?

tbh, you're probably going to end up running into problems at some point for swapping all your hardware and not formatting and reinstalling your OS and apps.

Have you disabled onboard sound in the bios?
Have you tried reinstalling BF2?

Thats where it is atm Psi, but thanks, havent tried disabling the Onboard sound so will give that a go.

Would rather avoid doing a re-install of windows as it my XP CD is nerfed.

By that, do you mean that you have a legit copy of windows but the cd is just damaged? If so, just download the cd from torrent and then use your legit serial when you install it. You can use Jellybean to get your XP serial number from your current installation if you don't have a sticker on your case.

Just be sure to get the cd that goes with your serial.
For example, you can't use an XP Pro cd if your serial number is for an XP Pro Upgrade... you'd have to download an upgrade cd.
