Hi,

I came across a strange issue after putting together a new PC.
I got it to boot (at least I think so) but there is nothing showing on the monitor.
Also none of the keys/light come on on the keyboard.

Config is:
i5 3450
P8H61 PRO-M mobo
8GB Kingston Hyper X Genesis 1600Mhz CL9
500W CM Silent Pro
128GB M4

PS/2 keyboard ;)

I get the same thing with an external graphic card.

Each time I power it up it comes on twice with quick reset and then finally all is going but no vision ;)

Mem OK showing ok, both ATX plugs connected, same thing without mems.

Built in (mobo) VGA (and one on the normal gfx card), tried 2 monitors - same type, working ok with other PCs

Hi mate. My friend had this same issue with a new build but with an AMD FX4100 and Asus M5A78L-M LX. Basically, it turned out that he needed to flash his bios. Don't know a lot about your mobo n cpu compatibility, but would recommend you at least look into it

Any beeps from the BIOS? Some cards have some LED's that light up too on the event of an error, again it will be a flashing light sequence that indicates a fault of some kind, look it up in the motherboard and/or Card manuals.

Tried CMOS reset a number of times.
This mobo haven't got any extra lights apart from Power LED & mem OK.
No speaker to check for signals :/
I will by trying to flash bios shortly but that means I have to take 2500K of my rig to put into this one... bummer :/ (unless someone knows of a different way to do it?)

Edit:
Just checked 2nd set of mems, and the PSU with my tester. Both OK.
Seems like a mobo or CPU then....

Just for future generations ;)
I had to update the BIOS to get the Ivy working... shame on Asus as anyone with low budget going for H61 chip has to have a Sandy to hand to flash it before Ivy can work!
