New PC Build Case- Coolermaster Scout? HELP!!!!

I will be building my First build from scratch soon and have compiled the following spec:

Potential Spec: (prices not necessarily on this website)

Case & PSU
- NOW GONNA GET THE LANCOOL (3 x Intake Fans, 2 x Exhaust Fans) (want clear side panel, like the front ports & led fan switch on/off)
- OCZ ModXStream Pro 700w Silent SLI Certified Modular Power Supply
- Total - £140

Processor
- AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 965 Black Edition 3.40GHz - £140

Graphics
- ATI Radeon HD 5770 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card - £120

MOBO
- CHANGED - £85


RAM/Memory - CHANGED - £85

TOTAL - £640


Monitor & CD/DVD Drive – 22” Dell (already have)

HDD – 320gb + 60gb (already have)

WIFI Card – (already have)

Sound Card – (included on MOBO above!?)

Will be running Vista first, then Windows 7 home premium 64bit



I wanted the coolermaster scout because of the amount of fans it can take, the red led fans, and because i want a side panel to view the insides of the pc (why spend all that money not to see the amazing equipment ;)). I also liked the front ports and option to switch on/off the led fans. I dont want to spend more than 80quid on a case, and want the above on it.

Is this case good enough for the spec above, how overclockable would it be with the 3 intake, 2 exhaust fans, would it need water cooling? How overclockable are the parts above in general (motherboard, cpu, graphics etc)??


Any help/advice would be much appreciated! :)

I've had the scout and personally wouldn't buy it again. Although its build quality is good and the fans are excellent, once your components are in it is really realy cramped.

I literally ONLY just got my 4870 1gig in and I had to nick some of the 5" bay space to do that.

Cable management is also a right pain in the neck because the pre-cut holes just aren't big enough.


Personally at £80 I'd be going for the Lancool PC-K62 Dragon Lord.

Lian-Li build quality and ooodles of space minus the price tag. It really does punch far above its weight.
 
I too am not a big fan of this case, for mainly the same reasons mentioned above.

I did a build in the Lancool (suggested above) last night and it is awesome. Cant go wrong with Lian Li atm.

+1 for the lancool, i have it and its a great case, loads of space and good for cable managment, plus looks great :D
 
You have changed my mind and i will get the lancool!!!

I will use one of the front bays to put in the accessory for USB ports etc etc.

The temp/fan monitor that you can get for the case looks good too, anyone know much on that?????????
 
I know it has them on top, but the top of the case will sit very flush underneath a shelf and so not much room to get to them!! Thats why I will put some on the front, and that way can get more than 2 USB ports.

Does anyone know much or had the temp/fan monitor?
 
Ah fair enough. Ive not seen the Lian Li controller in the UK, does look nice though.

Im using the Zalman controller and its good.

What controller do you have? Zalman ZM-MFC3?... I was thinking of getting the corsair h-50 water cooler, would you be able to put that on the controller?
 
Im pretty certain the H50 pump requires a 12V constant supply, I wouldnt think putting it on a controller is a good idea.
My controller is the MFC1 plus in black. I didnt want anything flashy, silver or with screens.
