Wanting to do a noticable upgrade pice is always a restriction so im looking at 1.3k max for just the Internals but i just read about the new 32nm cpus with new sockets are coming in 2009, so is it worth waiting or shall i just upgrade my cpu with a new £200 version.

Current
Asus P5w DH Deluxe
E6600
8800gtx
4*1GB cosair6400
corsair 620 PSU

Intended (August-september)
Newest nvidia chipset around purchase time (atm striker II 790i)
Q9450
DDR3 not confirmed
Enermax 1000w
new Nvidia cards released in summer (atm 9800gx2)

With so much new tech in the near future do you think its worth waiting for all that new stuff to come in(just as i did with curent pc)

1.Get a new cpu for now the new gen gfx cards(not 9800).
2.Just wait it out until new chipset + sockets.
3.Full upgrade now (least likly as i only work in summer)

Does your current PC fail to do what you need? It's still a fairly high spec pc as it is.

my friends just got new systems with an e8400 and a p5ne mobo and they get abotu another 100fps on Source games 50+on tf2, and so on and conan 10-20 fps more on max gfx which is what im mainly using my pc for atm.

the only real benefit you will get is from a super dooper new gpu, anything apart from that will give you 10fps+ max i would imagine

unless you encode professionally or photoshop professionally you are a fool, the only game that comes close to pushing that system is crysis.

so you want to spend north of a grand... just for for penis points?

nah crysis is a boring game and i get 10fps average max gfx dx10 1680*1050
and having a high fps average 60 on conan combat is needed at release imo and i hate low gfx

me spending 1k when i got my pc made it last a long time and yes i like to have an large E-Penis but i dont show it about like most its more to do with personal satisfaction. you must be able to understand that.

tip - nobody can run crysis well on full, lower the settings slightly
in regards to fps it doesn't matter what you get, what you want is a constant minimum of about 30-35fps. if i could get 100fps in crysis 95% of the time but 3fps 5% of the time, its not the upper end causing me problems.

and tbh you really are stoopid, in the last week you have made a number of idiotic comments, its your money you do what you want, but nobody can spec you parts that dont yet exist.

O/C that E6600 if your just using it for games and the 8800gtx you got is high spec, so in my opinion no need to upgrade yet.
