Hey

my mate wants to build a pc and has asked me for some advice on some parts.

He has 400-500 to spend but would prefer it to be closer to the 400 mark.

This is what i have come up with.

specs.jpg

the PSU will be going in an older PC and a Enermax Liberty 620w will be going in to this build.

PC is for gaming and will be doing a light overclock (3.2ghz)

he has monitor mouse and keyboard, DVDRW and a case .

Thanks

Thats fab :)

this is what i have so far

specs2.jpg

would the x3 be worth the extra over the x2

AMD Phenom II X2 Dual Core 550 3.10GHz Black Edition - £79.99

AMD Phenom II X3 Tri Core 720 Black Edition 2.8GHz - £105.00

also CPU cooler

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/AM2+/AM3) - £34.99

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2) - £17.24

which one would you recomend?

the Arctic one does not say AM3 will it still fit.

iv read somewhere that the Thermalright one has a dodgey plastic mounts.

After these questions think we is done :)

Thanks

If it's just for gaming get the x2 if you use photoshop, cad etc get the x3

also CPU cooler

Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/AM2+/AM3) - £34.99

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2) - £17.24

AM2 is the same fit as AM3 so yes it will fit. Thhe TRUE (Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme) doesn't come with a fan, you need to buy one seperate so it costs a lot more.

ok so dual it is

the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro PWM CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2) - £17.24 is out of stock and he would like to order tonight any alternatives? as the TRUE is a bit pricey.

Thanks

Retail cooler would be adequate for now, and wait until that Arctic Cooling comes back in stock.
Ive always been pleased with Zalman performance.

Hey

thanks for all the help went with the TRUE with a noctua fan in the end as he decided that the PSU was not needed.

thanks for all the help :)

gona look forward to helping him build this may get some pics to stick up on here to :)#

Thanks once again
