New PC build issues

I’ve just built a new pc and it was all running like a dream until I added a second pair (2x8GB) of ram sticks.
The PC is not overclocked, I just set the ram to XMP 1 profile and selected 3200Mhz. It was absolutely fine with no crashes and cpu hitting 70c max in cpuz bench, it hits less in gaming so no issues there.
I’ve tried putting 16GB back in and running memtest which reports the ram is ok but I must have some bios settings wrong as I’m getting ctd in msfs and also Borderlands 3.
Can someone help me fully reset the bios on a Asus Rog Strix Z590-e motherboard please? Once that is done can someone help me with bios settings for the ram so it’s running at 3200Mhz stable with the cpu not overlocked? Just looking to have a stable system.
Thanks in advance!

Last night I set the ram to 3066Mhz (just two 2x8GB sticks)and was able to race a solid hour of Assetto Corsa Competizione without any crashes. I think the crashing in Borderlands 3 was due to DirectX12 so I’ll try again with DX11 later on tonight.

I wonder if I set the ram to 3200Mhz it would be stable? I’ll have to try again tonight. I might just leave it for now until I can get some help with bios tuning help.

When I had just two 8GB sticks in and set to 3200Mhz it was fine but as soon as I added another two sticks the problems occurred.
I’m reluctant to put the second pair back in as the system is running ok but I still don’t think I’m running the correct ram settings.

Cool, thanks both of you.

My heart literally sank after adding the second pair of sticks and having nothing but blue screen crashes. Nothing I did would get me back to the previously stable computer I had before.
It seems to be fine now but I do want the full 32GB running at 3200Mhz so I’ll try what you have said first then add the second pair again, add more volts and see what happens.

Hmm. They should still work at XMP. ASUS have a guide if you're not familiar with how to enable it on your motherboard.

If that doesn't work I agree with Mickeyflinn, maybe try upping the voltage. But I'd try optimised defaults and then enabling XMP for one pair of DIMMS and check stability first.

Ok, I have 16GB set to 3200Mhz and everything seems fine. I did bump the voltage up to 1.36 anyway.
Happy for now and will test it out for stability for a few days then try adding the rest of the ram.
Cheers for the helps so far!
