New PC Build Problem

Hi guys,

I just built up a pc from brand new parts, but when i switch it on, the fans and drives begin to power up, but then the computer just switches itself off after about 20 seconds, then restarts itself over and over until i pull the power cord out.

I have double checked all connections, and have plugged in the 24 pin motherboard connection and the 12v connection.

There is no beep or anything when the pc is switched on.

Here is the spec (As i said, these are all brand new parts)

Intel i5 2500K
MSI 6850
Corsair 500w psu
Artic Freezer 13 heatsink
8gb Corsair RAM
Bitfenix Alpha case

Take one stick of ram out and try it.

Is there a PC speaker connected?

There isnt a PC Speaker connected.

And I have already tried that, the exact same thing happens

Has the board got a onboard speaker?

The board is a gigabyte z68ap-d3. I'm not sure if it has an Onboard speaker

Are Motherboard stand offs fitted correctly ?
Remove GPU and all but 1 stick of ram, unplug HDD and optical drives from motherboard.
Unplug from mains remove Cmos battery to reset bios.
Recheck all connections from the PSU.
Then try powering up and entering the bios, if that works add components 1 at a time.

Still having the same problem, I'm guessing now that the motherboard is faulty

Can anyone else suggest why this is happening?
