new pc build, some first time start up problems

just to clarify, everytime you try bootup it goes toe the windows loading screen & reboots constantly over and over again.?

I thought you tried to reformat and it BSOD'd you, my bad.

This happened to me when I changed cases, the hard drive kept automatically rebooting & making a clicking noise. I tried to reformat but kept getting BSOD'D. I slipstreamed the sata drivers onto the windows disk and it allowed me to reformat nicely.

ok i reset the BIOS to failsafe defaults, and then changed the ram voltage back to what it should be and tried again, no difference.

I looked at the CPU voltage but i dont know what it should be to see if its wrong or not, doesnt say on the packaging.

i checked the cpu voltage and it was at that already, tried again and it makes no difference.

what more could there be to try before i gotta think its a fault on the motherboard and send it back?

Sorry none of the advice has paid off - it's one of those things which is difficult to sort out over forum without physically seeing it for yourself. One last ditch thought is, what temps is your cpu / system showing in the bios - It could be your bios might have setting that if cpu reach certain temp then it reboots. If it were running too hot and reaching this peak, it could be reason why you are getting reboots. In which case you would have to reseat heatsink, or could increase threshold that it reboots. Have a look at this. Running out of ideas here I'm afraid. Monitor your temps in the bios for a while (they'll appear lower as your cpu is not doing any work) and report back.

Any further thoughts from you troubleshooting veterans out there?

just received word from OcUK, they say the motherboard worked fine, let them install windows and ran for 30 hours under a stress test. theyre sending it back to me.

that eliminates it from the problem, but what else could have been causing the issues?

got the mobo back this morning from ocuk. their testing screenshots they sent show it running prime95 for over 30 hours and installing windows.

ive put everything back together here and im still getting the same problem though :( , but im no closer to finding out what it is?

i dont want to start having to RMA all my components one at a time to find the culprit, but could it be my CPU? ive read that its incredibly rare to get a duff one, but is whats happening to me a possible symptom of that?

Or could it be the PSU? it is 580w but i have had people tell me it could be the issue, is it worth me buying a new more powerful psu to try?

help! thanks
